Shooting the river deltas at Landmannalaugar

I have too many hobbies, but the three most interesting hobbies I have are Photographing, Hiking and Flying which actually matches perfectly together. Being a pilot opens up a new world of opportunities for aerial photographing.

Flying over the Icelandic highland is something unique, its like entering another world. The glaciers, black sand, volcanos, river deltas, this is all within a reach and looks so different from above. And there are so many places the can never be reach by car or hiking. Being able to shoot just after the rain has left the area brings out the most fabulous colors that one can ever see. The contrast, saturation and clarity is just perfect.

I have probably spent hundred of hours up there without ever finishing. Everything is constantly changing, the rivers, the seasonal colors and the light, which gives you always new look to your capture, even if the place is the same over and over.

Many photographers have joined me for aerial photographing and the word I keep hearing the whole time is WOW!
